I'm all for drama but I'd rather that drama actually play into the actual main conflict, or at least stop dragging it out.
I had this same problem with Gridman, even though I still enjoyed it. Most of the drama feels less like toku/mecha drama and more like a 3DPD j-drama but animated.
Doesn't help that I also feel the action's gotten worse compared to Gridman too.
