seems like in prosperous times, people are most worried about fixing mundane potholes right in front of them, but in dark ages they get anxious & worried about infinite wealth, immortality, becoming omnipotent, all this bullshit
lastly, nihilistic comedy is used to put people in a position where their only options are to either laugh at how bad things are (which necessitates you forget how unnecessary the bad things are & how much better living conditions could easily be) or "ruin the fun" and end up dead basicaly
the key for making niggercattle isn't to stamp out all resistance to poor conditions, it's to make them FORGET that there was ever anything besides a niggercattle plantation or another way of living, so that they never think to resist in the first place
comedy is used as a tool toward this end
