“J-Jen?” A warm lump forms in Nikki’s throat and tears begin to flood down her cheeks. “Why shouldn’t I give up? You’re dead. Madame Divine doesn’t want me anymore. Amy and Colby will be fine together. No one needs me, Jen. Every other week something happens to me and everyone comes running. I’m just a burden. If Coco would have just let me join you that night…”
“No, no, no.” Sapphire shakes her head. “I died trying to protect my friends. You included. Don’t you think it would be a waste if you died too, despite that? Do you want what happened to me to mean nothing?”
“N-no.”
