You know this is something I've been looking into but I want to be in a vietnam style reenactment because of my sick M16A1 obsession. Not sure if they exist though.
10/22 is the way to go for plinking. Definitely the funnest round of them all and the cheapest. Hell I'd even use it for HD.
Go with the 9mm because .40 has always seemed like the indecisive tranny round of pistols. 9mm is great and the extra meat of the hi power makes its recoil super manageable. The only problem I have with it is the extractor pin. Mine had an issue with stove-piping but after I changed out the extractor pin it was fine . Same with my TA-90 though so it's like $3 for a replacement pin vs the like $10 on the TA-90.
