I had one last online situation many years ago with a guy I met on TF2. We chatted every day for like a year or two and then he disappeared for like 3 years. One day he appears online, I message him, and he excitedly starts catching me up with everything that had happened in the meantime. He was telling me how caught up he got with college (he was now a senior) and how he hadn't had time for games. I guess the discussion of age never came up prior, because I told him I was only 16 and still in high school, and he got really weirded out, assumed I was always his age, blocked me and never spoke to me again.
Another case wasn't a last online situation, but probably hurt worse. Used to be a good friends with a guy online, knew him for like 15 years, starting back in like 2006 or some shit. He was a channer before I even was, I think. We would always chat on and off for years, play games together, gift each other games from time to time, etc. One day like a year or two ago, I messaged him and he simply never responded. Messaged him again a few months later, nothing. He never removed me, and I still see him playing games to this day. I'll never understand what happened.
