God they make me sick.
Yes, I like the money I make off them, but at the same time they're subhuman beings living in one of my house's
So I have upped the rent this year 20%. And the renters are complaining about it. Little do they know:
I pay for:
-Water
-Sewer
-Garbage
-Basic cable tv
-Property tax
-Depreciation
-Maintenence
-Repairs
-Code compliance
And I don't even ask for a tip!
Now all of those things were effected by inflation. And they're upset about 20%? A young couple -- new parents, I think, -- are telling me that $2300 a month is over the top.
They were just paying a lowly $2000.
That's $500 a week. Find any hotel that will let you stay there for $500 a week. Ok.
They don't understand the kind of work landlords do and should really be more greatful.
-Every new tenant gets a new coat of paint prior to moving in (its what the move in fee is used for)
-Maintenence on my appliances (fridge, AC, oven, dishwasher, laundry, ect..) is paid for out of the security deposit. This is fair. Don't like it, don't use my appliances then.
-Everyone talks about rent raises but nobody ever mentions the groundskeeping they get ect......
-I put up beautiful crown and base molding in my rental's
If these renters would work and save money as hard as they complain, they would be renting ME a house! Everyone says homeowner ship isn't possible these days? Then how come there are so many house's being built.
Also, final tip, do not ever rent to people who work city desk jobs. I like to rent to laborer's because they almost never say anything to me other then "here is your rent check" and sometimes they do volunteer repairs.
