I'd like to have another one. I'm really in favor of owning stock in the companies that mine and develop the raw materials that undergird industrial civilization, and I've been starting to put my money where my mouth is, slowly but surely.
Right now I've got some small holdings of Rio Tinto and Cameco. The latter is because I'm very bullish on uranium going forward given the renewed interest in lots of places in nuclear power. I've been dipping into some uranium ETFs as a result.
I'm thinking of getting into some companies that specialize in rare earth minerals, too, given that China just banned their export to the US. Figure companies that mine them are going to be busy soon finding alternative supplies for the West.
These are all long-term plays on my account, my intention is to slowly accumulate these shares and hold them over time. I'd love any recommendations from investors on this board familiar with the field.
