i think that's the fact that i find weird about it really. if you have physical books you have to put them somewhere and naturally if someone else recognizes the books that you have it'll spark conversation, but that's something completely different from going online specifically to post your bookshelf and admire other peoples'. it's not to say someone can't be proud of their library or something, but at that point it's definitely more about collecting as a hobby which i don't think is a natural consequence of reading a lot
