>>19622348New philosophies don't spontaneously materialize. No one questions if Socrates really existed even though he's known almost entirely by accounts of his work by his student Plato. The legacy of Socrates philosophy clearly exists and it would be silly to suggest that Plato made up his mentor. Yet here you have Jesus, another figure who creates a new philosophy with writings by 4 of his disciples describing the man, his life and his teachings and somehow its supposed to be logical to conclude that they made up this man and created the new philosophy of Christianity while ascribing it to this fictional figure they created as part of some conspiracy for no apparent reason. Its an absurd theory that completely fails Occam's Razor (the simplest explanation is most likely to be true) and the simplest explanation is that Jesus was real and his disciples were telling the truth about him.
As for their being no outside historical sources describing him. We're talking about a dissident prophet 2000 years ago in Roman occupied Judea who was teaching a message that was a threat to the authorities both Roman and Jewish. As you know history is written by those in power and clearly those in power would have liked for Jesus to be forgotten just as our contemporary master have us conveniently forget so many inconvenient news stories that demonstrate their wickedness.
