The group therapy stuff was so overt it had the opposite effect of mentally breaking the fish down. Even then Letty and Tayleigh were fully aware that the show had a defined end date and had Lance, Mauro, Tai, or Danye as freeloaders to support them here and there so they didn't get totally mind fucked. Nifty never did group at all yet she was telling the S3 fish about how she was miserable, walking on egg shells the whole time and was euphoric when Sam would show up every day and wanted to please him, which is classic stockholm syndrome.
