It's because true wealth is the share in the tree of life that God promised Abraham the reward, "Your descendants will be more numerous than the stars in the sky." He didn't say, "I will give you 50 bucks and a nice house in the suburbs." Likewise, the punishment I mete out won't be, "You lose 50 bucks and your nice house." The punishment you get from me is that your descendants will number zero.
