It’s not totally implausible that if a species lived on this planet pre ice age and was capable of traversing the cosmos that they would see a +10.000 year ice age on the horizon and just vacate this rock in search of another. Perhaps they too have not cracked the Code for faster than light travel and they may even be still floating out there.
