The most practical Asian languages to learn are the obscure ones. I'm talking laosian, nepalese, that sort of shit. Find a country that still has powerful people who don't speak english. These are the types who can pay you five figures to market their underpriced products and so on.
I thought I was cool for learning Vietnamese but ESL is too big in this country for it to make me any dosh. Only serious business situations it helps in are with gangster/policeman types and that's not the kind of action you want. Still glad I learned it cause now I get to settle comfortably in the best country, but I doubt that's what you're looking for
