The manga only has one story that revolves around chess, it's where MC has to beat this one guy in power on the chess board, the guy plays by some dirty rules and flexes his knowledge of the game so you really root against him.
The story doesn't really any chess besides that, I brought it up since its one of my favorite manga and it influences me to be a better person and strive for more which I didn't really have prior to that. Also striving to improve at chess to honor and show how much it means to me personally.
