Yeah, 1000+yrs is a long time to go with a make-over, but people put great value in old religious stuff, and try to keep it.
You wont find anything pre-1000AD that confirms it was a church prior to that same time.
I'm seeing lots of effort to make very fancy designs, but exactly zero hints of anything Christian (if this is even original and not done after the "centuries of neglect"). But put long odds on it being in fact original BECAUSE it has no hint of anything related to Jesus, just generic Turk/Iranian looking "fancy", probably a palace/govt seat.
If anything Jesus does exist AMONG the huge amount of high-quality fancy stuff, it will be "later added" and wont really match the other stuff and look out of place, just by eyeballing it. Likely raised proud of "field" of rest of the stuff.
