I'd rather date somebody who respects me, who has certain key values and interests in common with me, and whom I can more or less relate to on many personal issues.
It's all about finding a balance between extremely similar and completely different, not about looking for something ridiculous that stands on either end, when it comes to long-term relationships and commitments.
