They ask you if you "ever had thoughts of suicide or are having thoughts of suicide" during the booking process for jail after you get arrested. So if you're having a shitty day and a mental break down, you're going to probably say "yes" and then they put you in a turtle suit, pretty much naked and you get locked in this bare cell so you have nothing to kill yourself with.
Like everything they do makes you want to kill yourself even more. The only way out is to tell them you love life and never want to die and live forever and have never ever thought about leaving this material plan of existence for any reason whatsoever.
And I'm white and this happened to me personally, after getting arrested for something I pretty didn't do but was in the middle of a mental break down anyways so I told them, like fuck yeah I want to kill myself... I'm in jail for something I didn't do. There are some legitimate dangerous people in there but I thought this was a retarded overboard and not a way to handle mental health issues.
