>>16174132btw about gamer skill translating to piloting i think that sounds like bullshit lol
i mean i guess you did hear pilots talking about how it would help them, but i dont think them saying that makes it really true, a lot of people with professions like that tend to say retarded stuff of that sort
i guarantee you that its some article that popped up on their phone saying "wow gamers have good reaction times" that made them think that lol, i doubt its something they actually understand and are just exaggerating muh gamer reflexes
its not like having good reaction time is something that you can only obtain from playing fast-paced video games long enough anyway, i mean if youre in the air force and youve gotten your training then you sure as fuck have a fast reaction time or you wouldnt even be there, i dont doubt that its something theyre required to be good at
i mean you could just watch some footage of pilots in combat and having to do the exact maneuvers and whatnot to avoid whatevers coming towards them, and all this under the mental and G pressure, considering all that im pretty sure they already have top of the line reaction times which are likely better than the 99% of people who play video games a lot
so yea its exaggerating how much it would actually help, an air force pilot would already be required to have a really good reaction time, so not much difference would be made if they played fast-paced games, idk how much playing would actually help with your overall reaction time anyhow, sure youre going to have great reflexes in the game youve spent a lot of time with, but im not sure about how well that would turn into real life air combat and whatever, maybe slightly but nothing that actually makes a difference i would imagine
so a pilot would definitely not benefit from playing video games imo, even if they think that they would
charlim, sleep tight btw
