Just to add to your general misery let me inform you of the Edmonton Study.
Some anthropologists were looking at various primates' behavior and found that when a male baboon with a harem was defeated and killed by a rival the first thing that his victorious rival did when he took over the harem was to snatch up all the baby males by their heels and swing them around to smash their skulls on rocks. The mothers would lament the death of their sons for a day or two and then go into estrus with their pudenda swollen out and bright red showing they were ready for fucking. The new victorious male would go to it.
This excited the curiosity of the researchers into investigating human behavior in analogous conditions. Did humans show any evidence of similar behavior? They studied homes in Edmonton and found to their surprise that in homes where the mother of a boy under the age of 12 was living with a man not the child's biological father, the death rate for the male children was TEN TIMES THE RATE OF DEATH compared to boys living with their biological father. Yet there was no concomitant conviction or even investigation of the non biological fathers living with the child's mother for murder. It was clear that there was a long standing wide spread crime being perpetrated that was under the police radar.
A retired detective was shown the study and he devoted his retirement to going around to police departments all over N. America to preach this gospel. The result was that now in most jurisdictions the police are required to make at least a preliminary investigation for murder in all deaths of little boys living in the presence of their mother's lover or new husband that was not their biological father.
So if your woman leaves you for another man and takes the kids...your flesh and blood son is in immense danger.
Young David Copperfield's fear of the sinister Mr. Murdstone and his magnificent whiskers was not frivolous or unwarranted it seems.
