Videogames constructed through artificial intelligence relentlessly pushed this point home. Everytime a player seemed to give meaning to whatever he saw in them, the in-game algorithms provoked a situation to not just convince them that what they saw was meaningless, but sometimes going out of their way to use psychiatry to make them feel nothing. From birth to death, the soft power of surveillance managed to prevent the plebs from organizing any form of meaningful demands. Not through mere violent silencing, but through sophistry. Not through people disappearing onto the night, but by pushing them into groups that would drown out their voice.
