i think it all depends on how interesting a subject feels when you have a good or a bad teacher. i fucking hate physics, i've also only ever had bad physics teachers! but when i took 2 semesters of chem, it was a fun time since my professor managed to make the lectures lively.
those are personal anecdotes, but i hope you get what i mean. sometimes it isn't really your fault for not being interested in a topic.
