Course I've also been binge watching a good series on the medieval church history. From the ancient romans/greeks all the way so far until the papal schism o the 1300s.
And looks like they had a hell of a time just trying to merely get people to get on the same page with the whole concept of the holy trinity.
Where Jesus wasn't made, but begotten, he was always there, but was incarnated, and he is totally God, but separate from God, and Jesus is not a human body with God as the mind, that's heresy. and Jesus also isn't God pretending to be human, that's heresy, but Jesus not being God is also heresy, oh and the Holy Spirit is actually a person too, but just a silent aspect of God, well not aspect, the Holy Spirit is God and the Holy Spirit is Jesus, but what did I just tell you? They AREN'T THE SAME, THAT'S MODALISM YOU HERETIC!
The sheer amount of bending over backwards to make this work is crazy. Arians might have had it right all along, even though the series definitely endorsed the Nicean conclusion (mainstream Christianity)
