>>17529995In the end, Taiwan just doesn't have enough people willing to fight to prevent reunification. They may not want it but they will not fight and die to prevent it. Their recruitment numbers prove this, they even lack sufficient pilots to consistently intercept PLAAF incursions. The vast majority of Taiwanese still think the US will get involved, that's the only reason they think they will be fine.
They don't realize there are very few Americans directly fighting Russians in Ukraine and their defense will need to up to them as well..
