But I have only been to Cannes once and I've had a disturbing experience back then.
I was 16, me and my friends had split up, I don't remember why. It was a bright day. I was walking through some lonely side street. Only one person but me was there, it was a man who was walking somewhere behind me. First I wasn't really paying attention to him but I heard him coming closer. I started walking quicker. I recognized he was walking faster, too, and coming closer. I was too shy/afraid to turn around. But he came closer and I felt he was closer than it was normal for some pedestrian. Then he was so close he stepped on the back of my new shoe (flip flops) and the strap broke. He ran away quickly. I didn't tell my friends why my shoe was broke when we met again.
(In fact I didn't tell anyone.)
