Imagine living in the Russian far east. Infrastructure that can barely keep up, the central government doesn't give a fuck, cities with narcomans in their 50s everywhere. At least Germany is small. If Germany lost half of its population, they would still able to keep up. But Russia is too big of a country. The Soviets ruined everything, they only thought in the short term, and now Russia has to suffer for it.
