My mom though says the exact same shit going on 4 years now yet 80% or more of interactions with her and my kids have been on me and that's fine, but don't bitch about your relationship being poor with them.
she sits on her phone the entire time they're over and or my dad watches TV. They don't play or talk. it's nonsense so I just bring them by on occasion. I've washed my hands of this and accepted it's their fault they don't know my kids well.
