>>23644397I was in Salman Pak for 15 months and to be honest, it was fucking amazing. Scary at times but beautiful when peaceful. I lived right on the Tigris river at the site Saddam’s “chemical weapons facility”, the entire basis for the invasion. This was the ‘Land between the two great rivers” that the Bible says contained the garden of Eden. Going south from Salman Pak was like traveling back in time. Lush and green, orchards and fish farms for miles. I believe that the canal system feeding that area is one of mankind’s oldest examples of engineering. The place was magical and you could feel it in the air.
