And before that we had a few days during which the entire catalog was filled with imptrash kept alive by a bump bot. /bant/ is like a cockroach, it survives everything you try to kill it with.
My theory is that /pol/ jannies get changed often and usually when there's an uptick in imptrash it just means they got a new one who was told to move off-topic to /bant/.
