>>20554763This is retarded. The Jedi code IS the balanced side, where great ability is balanced out by dedication to others and justice. The "Sith" "code" is simply to lean into emotional turmoil instead of trying to control it. Any balancing of self-interest vs the wellbeing of others is within the spectrum of the Jedi code, as it's just about mastery of the self, and basic bitch moral thinking inevitably concludes that you can't help anyone if you yourself are too placid or self-sacrificing to act.
Yoda could not have been more clear about this, the distinction between the dark side and the Jedi is not that they're equally strong through different methods, but that the dark side is easier because it doesn't require discipline. But it's also WEAKER in the end because it doesn't require discipline. Some power is attained very quickly but it's not earned, which prevents it from being of any benefit in the long term. This has obvious parallels to real life where you can attain short-term benefits through bad behavior, but you ultimately suffer for it. Sure you can steal a car instead of buying one, but any benefit is outweighed by the consequences.
In the original trilogy there's not even much to this idea of "the Sith" as some kind of order, they just talk about "the dark side" as something you fall into, not some kind of discipline you follow. Falling to the dark side is strictly weakness and mastering yourself to become a Jedi is strictly strength and righteousness; why would you "moderate" strength and righteousness with weakness and instability?
This shit only gets talked about by braindead Westerners who have been trained by left/right politics to think that the truth is always found from sitting on the fence.
