what i really needed to do was go to the second link, back up 3 pages on the hierarchy, then click a different article to find one blurb that references the online class portal by name without mentioning that's what it is or how to get to it. after having to infer what the fuck they're even talking about i needed to go log in to the student web portal and click through 3 more links to get to the actual orientation page.
fortunately once i got there i found out that it's like 12 videos i could play simultaneously, a bunch of pdfs that i needed to open and close, and 2 3 question quizzes so it didn't take long to actually do.
