>>19820560When Valari and the Queen arrive back at the royal chamber, it is late in the evening. They change clothes there - Valari to a comfortable and light, but modest tank top and shorts that will permit her to perform her duties while adequately clothed in the event of an emergency. Even as she remains vigilant and guards the Queen while she dresses, Valari remains alert, trying not to become too distracted by the thoughts running through her head. She is thinking about the day's visit to Maria MacTavish, Mighty Milf, and about the future of her wrestling career. She's thinking about SHEE6, her friend back in town, and about the guardian of the cave, called "Taco Bear," oddly enough. She's thinking, as she often does on nights such as this, about her departed husband Fyodor, and about the world she left behind to join this one. And she is thinking about the moon. It is full tonight, and there is a strange energy in the air. She remembers her training with the spirit of the Great Old Wolf, how if one howls at the moon loudly enough, and in the right way, the moon may just howl back. It is a time when many spirits, and other unnatural entities that exist in this world and the ones near it, will be most active.
>>19821532Some technological device makes a chirping sound in Her Majesty's presence. Valari turns to be sure it is not a threat. She is coming to learn about "cell phones" which you can use to talk or type messages to people far away, and which can be set to provide a raucous noise to wake a person at an appointed hour, like a morning-bird that is even more annoying than usual, except you wouldn't punish your cell phone by telling it that it will be tonight's supper when the warchief visits. There is even a thing on these phones called Thotify, that can be used to play very interesting music, often with poetry sung or spoken over it.
But THIS sound is not the sound of Her Majesty's cell phone. Valari looks at the Queen.
>"Is all well, my Queen?"
