It doesn't matter if the solutions you come up with are ethical, would make them more money, would improve everyone's lives and would foster greater peace so more money can be made. They are singularly committed to and obsessed with paths of least resistance and maintaining the status quo for as long as possible, come what may. If you're more technically inclined, you're just casting pearls before swine to share your inventions with them and sell them to the world. They would ignore even an AI who tells them uncomfortable or inconvenient truths after improving their lives and increasing their wealth. That they breathe, think, or speak at all should be amazing to you, but the average person is so defeated, they've long normalized everything and just assume this is the best we can do. They still believe they live in a largely just world and one that will eventually, given enough time, go with what works. And the generations to come will produce the same or lesser than, as long as these types of people are in charge. They aren't evil, per se. They're just afraid. Constantly afraid. They use any possible means to avoid what they fear, including malevolence, but the main motivation behind it all is plain old fear. This is the "elite" that you fear. Bigger cowards than you could ever hope to be. Everything is done to avoid the larger truth.
