people who posted advice puppy and all the other spammy shit back then didn't call themselves shit like puppyposter. couldn't organise on discord for example, wouldn't make a spin off site. honestly a huge difference between now and then appears to be that memes had a shelf life and an expiry date. they'd get sick of what they used to post and go to the next thing.
nobody seems to get sick of anything anymore, no matter how long. it just keeps going and going.
