Whether or not to get into the pleasure cube probably won’t be much of a choice. The boundary between the real and physical world is being steadily chipped away. You will embrace the advent of new technologies such as virtual and augmented reality and think nothing of it as little by little the world you experience as a part of your everyday life slowly morphs itself into the pleasure cube. The average person spends hours a day watching television, playing video games, browsing the internet, using their phones. You are already living in the world that will one day become the pleasure cube. Looking back to before smartphones and social media were invented, it would be difficult to imagine the world as we know it today where people spend half of their lives plugged into the network. The smartphones and social media are just prototypes of the pleasure cube. People dipped their toes in to see what it was all about and next thing they knew they were knee deep. This is most likely how things will continue to evolve over time.
