Which means that by being programmed to view "God as protector as Jesus" that word therefore manifests divine protection for us. Where for a Hindu that might be Krishna and for a Muslim it would be Allah.
The name itself is like a totem, technically irrelevant but empowered culturally and by our own faith, to be the power of God itself. If we ask God by the name of Thor to help us we will not take this seriously and it will not be effective. This is why most Westerners refer to God as Christ, Jesus, heavenly father, perhaps Adonai or Yahweh, regardless of if they agree with the Bible very much. These names hold subconscious power. Much in the same manner that a particular prayer like the Lord's Prayer by repetition can become especially reaffirming.
