when I said binding agent I meant a macromolecular polymer which would clog the vein if injection was tried, would fill up the lungs if it was snorted or smoked so you can't breathe and caused intestinal blockage if too much was eaten
the polymer should also be mostly heat resistant and actively bonded with the molecule that you're getting high off such that only a specific cocktail of enzymes in your gut could separare them; making IV, snorting, smoking and plugging outright impossible
but yeah, that's pretty much stupid for some drugs as some of them like opioids and cocaine are fool's errand as everyone that starts abusing doesn't even realise they are addicted before it's too late
and weed is like the polar opposite as addiction sets in pretty much immediately and since you don't notice lack of cognitive progression until a year or so has passed you dismiss being a filthy chrony saying there are bo drawbacks it's totally safe
