>>13807588I bought a van and am slowly setting it up for this. I make good money although if I ever lost my job, I could see just peacing out, sell my house and live in a van for several months or even a year or two. For now it's just for fun trips. I think the big points to research and prepare are the following 3,
>1 - battery bank setup with solar panels to power basic things like a minifridge, laptop, phone. This will be the most complicated of the 3 to learn about and build. >2 - some type of portable toilet (there are many to choose from) that's easy enough to dispose of when you need to. Could be as simple as shitting in a bucket lined with a bag that you can seal and dispose of later. >3 - membership to one or more gym clubs, preferably 24 hour access gyms with the more locations the better. This allows you to do 2 things. The biggest one being the ability to take a shower. The other one being if you sleep in the gym's parking lot and either the gym's security or the police knock on your window, you will at least have an excuse to be there and can just tell them the straight truth. "Sorry officer I'm traveling cross country and using my gym membership to workout and take a shower, I just was tired and thought I'd take a little nap before I move on." At that point, the worst they will do is tell you to leave but they may even let you stay. Either way, it's better than parking in a totally random business.
