Friends, family, nation, race, religion, etc... does not matter, you can love and care for them but they are not you, they don't have to love you/care for you in the same way you do, if they love you and respect you for yourself, that's cool, you have nice people to share your life with, if they want to change you to "be better" to "improve yourself" is just another way to say they don't like you or you are not useful enough for them, why the fuck you want to share anything with them? at the end of the day, if you change yourself do it because you want it, because is you ALONE who will deal with the consequences, when you understand this, you will find you are no longer depress.
