Usually I go and stroke my cat, just that little bit of physical interaction can really improve how my mood. Oh, and those lo-fi hip hop radio things on youtube. they're scarily good at making me zone out and forget about real life for a while.
>>4649743leaving the internet is a really interesting experience. I hadn't realised how often I thought "I should make a thread about this" until I couldn't anymore, and most things seem so much more important than they actually are. At first I was worried about missing certain threads, and not being able to check certain boards, among other things. but I eventually realised that there's nothing I wouldn't be able to catch up on when I came back. Once I stopped worrying about these things I think I was actually a lot happier than normal, and much more productive, but I'd also isolated myself from my friends, which was truly horrible. The real world can be such a lonely, uncaring place, and the internet is an escape that I think people almost need now.
It's amazing that we can dream up such exciting worlds and lives, despite our own being so mundane in comparison
