>>21197012>I have a concept of a planThat’s really been the republicans MO ever since the end of the bush era huh? “We don’t really have a concrete plan on how to fix America but we know it’s starts with banning abortion!” I get what (some of them at least) are trying to accomplish, tax breaks for big businesses counteracted with high import tariffs is a solid idea and gives manufacturers incentive to produce domestically. The problem is the free market doesn’t prioritize people over profits and manufacturers need to turn a profit to be able to still be in business and creating jobs. You can’t force these companies to produce here when the trade tariffs don't outweigh the cost benefits of low waged labor in countries with few regulations. In that situation the government needs to find the incentive for them to bring that manufacturing home, but unless they can find a way to make it dirt-cheap for factories to produce domestically the middle class falls into a recession and wages stagnate. Thats the position Americans are stuck in. Unless something is done with the industries I don't see that changing and taxing and printing money are not the solutions.
