The theory of evolution posits that earth is a DNA calculating computer, but in an incredibly round-about way. Now that we know about neural-networks and the intrinsic nature of computing, surely we can acknowledge that simpler DNA calculating computers likely exist elsewhere, and that earth is merely a culture, or fertile garden bed, for their off-spring.
The theory of evolution was created before the computer.
Since then man has:
>discovered that computing is ubiquitous and natural to the universe
>created artificial neural networks from crystalized silicone
>used a computer to model the genetic code for life
>modeled and and produced changes to that genetic code
>with use of artificial intelligence
