In any case I think disguises feel like you're wearing something. Easy to get used to, but it's not the same as actually being whatever you're disguised as. That's why anon still felt like he wasn't totally human.
Maybe they'd be able to clean excess gunk if they disguised, but there might be some still staining the fur? So it's a little easier in a way, but still kinda complicated to transform, shower, transform again, and shower again.
