As to the markets, look at the medium term trend, which is very positive. All markets have bad days, even strong bull markets. It's not days that count but weeks, months, and several years even.
Don't try to get rich tomorrow or by the end of the week or you'll drive yourself nuts. Metals and miners are good investments. Give them time and expect a bumpy ride since you still have to break the decades of preference for "money games" over "real stuff."
