As we pave over more and more of the Earth we will no doubt find countless more troves, treasures and graves.
But the reality is most people keep their treasures where their next of kin could find it once they died. Or otherwise relatively soon.
That we don’t find them should come as no surprise. But the ones we do find tell us that humans routinely did cache coins away for the future.
