Coding, unlike say Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, doesn't require the P.Eng designation (requires 2 years of relevant Canadian experience), so people with mechanical engineering degrees all pile into SE.
Technical sales generally pays really well in Canada (100k+ with a few years of experience) but Computer Science is a cucked field in Canada. It's for idiots who didn't realize they need to get into a stable profession like Engineering, Banking, Teaching, Law, Actuarial Science etc.
