She is at that breakaway age where she is fully developed but apparently doesn't yet fully realize it, and so her father is clearly now uncomfortable with her being with him the way she always was as a little girl because it is now sexually arousing for him but he's doing a good job in putting up a wall and weaning her off of him.
But until she finds a solid male to transfer this behavior onto, this awkwardness will unfortunately have to persist in the meantime.
