>>11342541The last thread was completely cringe. It is pretty obvious that most of the people were normies that probably have no musical training and aren't aware that the vast majority of music never makes it to the radio or computer-generated playlists on YouTube and Spotify, or whatever the fuck people use for music these days.
There always was and there always will be good music. At the same time the vast majority of popular music has always been dogshit. Most of the shit the Beatles was decent for pop music, but still boring. ACDC sucked ass. Nirvana was overrated and sucked ass compared to the Melvins and many other bands. Popular music in general sucks ass whether its rock, rap, or just conventional synthy pop+autotune.
Right now there is actually a lot of interesting shit going on in music if you know where to look. If you aren't able to find it, that's not because it's not there, it's because you're musically uneducated and you don't know where to look for it. You were probably the type of kids listening to shit like Korn and Linkin Park in highschool and you thought all the "mainstream" kids who were into "pop music" were just lame and uncool. In reality, if you were listening to shit like ACDC or Linkin Park passed the age of 12, then you are probably a retard and you were basically listening to the shitty pop version of actual rock music.
Really the only time popular music ever reached anything like the level of artistry and sophistication that you see in real metal, jazz, and classical music was with Progressive Rock in the 70s (e.g. Jethro Tull, King Crimson, Yes, etc.) and with Post-punk in the 80s (e.g. Joy Division, the Cure, etc.).
