While studying my genealogy, I discovered that my ancestors were Jews. Originally from the Netherlands they settled in France in the 18th century and were even ennobled by Louis XV, they converted to Catholicism which was mandatory to be ennobled. When the revolution arrived they lost everything and their castle was seized.
