Umineko no Naku Koro ni Musu takes place in the year 1996 during a short period of time on April 14th in Skinner's home within a residential neighborhood. The principal of Springfield Elementary School named Seymour Skinner, who lives on and owns his own home in the aforementioned peaceful neighbourhood, has invited Superintendent Chalmers to his home, to enjoy a home-cooked meal of his making.
