Something I just now thought about looking at those two together... Kubrick tinted that scene to be very blue because we tend to remember night scenes as cool or blue (more blue than they actually appear to our eyes even). So his audience would expect a cool, blue color temp because it's "space" and it's "dark" and it's "spooky." The Apollo photograph color temp is warm by comparison, like it was shot at high noon on Earth. Why? Because it's fucking real and a photograph in full sunlight on the moon is going to have a similar color temp to one in full, clear sky sunlight on Earth.
